Open up additional storage space...

Need more space to store your seasonal household items and precious personal possessions? Well things are looking up.

That void in your pitched roof might be a perfect place to put all those things you need to keep but can't find room to store. Christmas decorations, camping gear and sports equipment, for example.

Up above your garage - or any room of your house where the roof line is high enough - such items can be stored safe, secure and out from under your feet, giving you more room to move about freely in your home.

FAQ

1. How are Breezway Fakro Access Ladders safer than regular step ladder?

A. They are significantly safer than regular step ladders due to:

  • The safety hand rail

  • The high rated load capacity

  • The stabilizing effect of the spring

  • The wide steps with anti-slip grooves

  • The fact that the ladder goes all the way to the ceiling

2. How easy are the Breezway Fakro Access Ladders to install?

A. The ease with which they can be installed depends on the type of roofing joists into which the ladder is to be installed. If the ceiling has 600mm centred trusses,  installing the ladder is well within capabilities of most DIY enthusiasts. If the ceiling has rafter construction, installation, while slightly more difficult is still within the capabilities of most handy DIY enthusiasts. If you are unsure what type of roof construction you have, or if  you doubt your DIY abilities, we strongly recommend that you ask us to undertake the job or a building professional.

3. How heavy are the Breezway Fakro Access Ladders?

A. They weigh between 27 and 32kgs, depending on which size ladder is chosen.

4. How much weight can Breezway Fakro Ladders carry?

A. Fakro access ladders by Breezway have high load ratings which enable the ladder to be regularly subjected to loads of 160kg (for timer) or 200kg (for metal) without any ill effects or wear and tear. A high rated load capacity means that under smaller weights the Breezway access ladder will be more stable when compared to a ladder with a lower rated load capacity.

5. How should I measure the floor to ceiling height?

A. Measurements should be taken from the floor to the lowest part of the ceiling and not to the top of the ceiling joists.

6. I already have insulation in my ceiling, can I still fit a Breezway Fakro Access Ladder?

A. Yes, when installing the ladder, the existing insulation can simply be moved to the side and replaced once the installation is complete. Furthermore, the trapdoor of the ladder is insulated, so the integrity of your ceiling insulation will not be compromised.

7. What colours are Breezway Fakro Access Ladders available in?

A. They are only supplied in vacuum impregnated finish. The underside (room side) of the trapdoor on the timber access ladder is finished in white to allow it to match the majority of ceilings. The white trap door can also easily be painted to match a non-white ceiling. For metal access ladders, the trapdoor is a raw MDF finish which can also easily be painted to match the colour of ceilings.
